B2B pipeline for handicrafts from India opens new showrooms in U.S.

DALLAS – Expo Bazaar, a B2B sourcing platform for a wide range of handcrafted home furnishings made in India, is expanding its footprint in the United States.

The curator of premium home and lifestyle products earlier this week opened a showroom at the Dallas Market Center in suite 421. Expo Bazaar inaugurated its first showroom at AmericasMart last summer during Atlanta Market, and next week, it will open an additional showroom at Chicago Market.

The operation is also establishing a warehouse in the United States to provide a convenient solution for small boutique stores and independent retailers that buy in smaller quantities. The platform crosses more than 15 product categories, including home textiles, home accents, furniture, rugs and stationery. The assortment include more than 500 Indian brands and a curated selection of more than 7,000 products.

“Expo Bazaar is dedicated to fostering a direct connection between buyers and small producers in the remote clusters of India,” said Dr. Rakesh Kumar, chairman of IEML (India Exposition Mart Ltd.) and Expo Bazaar. “Our just-in-time (JIT) business model has streamlined our entire supply chain management.”

The in-house tech platform handles order management, inventory control and real-time shipment tracking, “enabling buyers to make more frequent purchases with reduced risks” he added.

The initiative is also expanding its sales representative network and collaborating with multiple sales rep agencies to extend its reach across 42 states in the U.S.

Arun Agarwal, director and co-founder of Expo Bazaar USA, said the organization is designed to bring cutting-edge supply chain management solutions to small businesses.

“We understand the unique needs of boutique stores, independent store and mom-and-pop stores and the critical role that efficient supply chain management plays in their success,” he said.

India’s Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts (EPCH) is actively collaborating with Expo Bazaar to strengthen the platforms’ impact and relevance. The agency serves as a facilitator for millions of artisans and crafts persons engaged in production of home, lifestyle, furnishings, furniture and fashion jewelry and accessories products in different craft clusters across India.
